Closed Mondays (except for Yale Commencement and MLK Day) and on these major holidays: New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Admission to the Yale Peabody Museum is free.

Is the Museum wheelchair-accessible?

Yes, the Yale Peabody Museum has multiple wheelchair-accessible entrances, and multiple passenger elevators.

How long should I plan for my visit?

Most guests should plan for about 2 hours in the museum.

How do we visit as an adult group or school group?

For adult groups of over 10 people, or for school field trips, please submit a request with the button below.

Convenient and free visitor parking can be found in Lot 22, adjacent to the museum. Space is limited.

Paid parking is also available at the following locations:

  • Chapel/York Garage: 150 York Street (accessible via blue line shuttle to Peabody)
  • Grove Street Garage: 63 Grove Street (12-minute walk away)
  • Audubon Garage: 61 Audubon Street (10-minute walk)
  • Science Park Garage: 347 Winchester Ave (accessible via Brown Line Short, a 12-minute loop)

There is also metered street parking on nearby streets.

Can we eat in the museum?

Guests are encouraged to use our Rest Spaces and Central Gallery for snacking.

Are there places to rest in the museum?

Rest Spaces are also located throughout the museum for guests and their families who need a rest. Seating is also available in the galleries.

Are there places to nurse/feed my child?

Guests are welcome to nurse their children in the galleries. However, a private wellness room is available on the lower level for guests who would like to leave the galleries to nurse or feed their child/children. This room is single use only and includes a cushioned chair with arms, a small table, a locking door, and an electrical outlet.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Please be aware that the Ancient Egypt & Mesopotamia and Andean & Mesoamerican Civilizations galleries contain or may contain funerary items.
