Interested in Volunteering?

NOTE: We are currently looking for long term volunteers to work in the Discovery Room and in the divisions of Vertebrate paleontology, Paleobotany, Botany/Yale Herbarium and Vertebrate Zoology/Ornithology both at the Peabody and at West Campus . If you are interested in being trained on the Fossil Cart please contact us.  All other positions are currently filled.

Volunteers may be elected to the Peabody Museum Associates Council

It’s a great way to reach out to the community, meet friends and help with scientific research. It’s fun and fascinating! Hours are flexible.

Volunteers receive:

  • FREE admission to the Museum
  • A subscription to the Explorer membership newsletter
  • You are invited to attend any lectures sponsored by the Museum
  • You will also enjoy a 10% discount at the Museum Store.

No prior museum experience is expected. Training will be provided for all volunteers in departments throughout the Museum.

Parents of volunteers under 18 must complete a “Consent to Treatment” form. I am sorry but we do not accept volunteers until they are 14 or over and in High School.
