Current Research

Ichthyology research at the Yale Peabody Museum has a long history that includes work done by the Bingham Oceanographic Institute and many collecting expeditions. Current work in the Division of Vertebrate Zoology’s fishes collection include includes work on deep sea fishes.

The honorary titles of Faculty Affiliate and Curatorial Affiliate are given to individuals who give some of their time and expertise to the Division. Affiliates are appointed by a vote of the Board of Curators and typically serve a 5-year renewable term.
