American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists

The ASIH is dedicated to the scientific study of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. Its primary emphases are to increase and disseminate knowledge about these organisms, and to encourage and support young scientists in these fields. ASIH programs are part of a global effort to interpret, understand and conserve the earth’s natural diversity and to contribute to the wise use of natural resources for the long-term benefit of humankind.

The Herpetologists' League, established in 1936, is an international organization of people devoted to studying the biology of amphibians and reptiles.

Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles

Founded in 1958, SSAR is a not-for-profit organization established to advance research, conservation and education concerning amphibians and reptiles. It is the largest international herpetological society, and is recognized worldwide for having the most diverse program of publications, meetings and other activities.
