The Marsh Dinosaur Collection


The Division of Vertebrate Paleontology’s dinosaur collection includes the type specimens of many of the most famous dinosaur species.

The Division has been involved in the conservation of an important part of its holdings, the massive collection of dinosaur fossils begun in the19th century under the Museum’s first director, Othniel C. Marsh.
