Divisional Holdings in Psychology

One of the most remarkable items in the Yale Peabody Museum’s Division of Historical Scientific Instruments holdings is a small “Lashley type” saliometer given by Ivan Pavlov to Roberta Yerkes Blanshard when she and her father, Robert Mearns Yerkes, visited Pavlov’s laboratory in Leningrad in July 1929. Blanshard donated the saliometer to the Division in December 1988.

The collection also houses several motion picture cameras and some film from the Emory University Yerkes Regional Primate Research Center, and a multiple choice apparatus used by Robert Yerkes.

The Yale Peabody Museum’s collections are available to legitimate researchers for scholarly use. Loans are issued to responsible individuals at established institutions. Loans and access to the collection can be arranged through the Collections Manager.
