in Anthropology and Medicine
Holdings of instruments used in medicine and anthropology in theYale Peabody Museums Division of Historical Scientific Instruments include the following:
Anthropology
- A collection of early anthropometers, calipers and craniometers.
- A bronze model of a cranium used as a control skull for measuring skull capacity.
- A cubic craniophore and skull pincers.
- A board for measuring human stature.
Medicine
The Yale Peabody Museums collections are available to legitimate researchers for scholarly use. Loans are issued to responsible individuals at established institutions. Loans and access to the collection can be arranged through the Collections Manager.
