Historical Scientific Instruments

The Division of Historical Scientific Instruments is responsible for some 2,000 instruments drawn from Yale University’s academic departments: primarily physics, but also astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, and geology.

The Yale Peabody Museum’s collections are available to legitimate researchers for scholarly use. Loans are issued to responsible individuals at established institutions. Loans and access to the collection can be arranged through the Collections Manager.
